Rainy Days Good For Reading

Feeling a little bored on these rainy days? Come down and check out some books to keep you busy when the weather is keeping you inside. We have quite a lot of new titles in right now. We also have a patron who has been working on our radio show collection so we will have some classic radio shows available on CD's within the next couple of weeks. CBS Mystery Theater anyone?

Grants!

We would like to thank the Chambers Family Foundation for their generous support of the library. Their grant funding has enabled us to continue offering a quality children's story time program each week and helps to make our Summer Reading Program one of the most successful in rural Lane County. We would also like to thank the Libri Foundation for their award to the library of a BOOKS FOR CHILDREN grant which will enable us to add 60 books to our children's collections. Both these awards go such a long way toward helping the library continue offering quality programs and dynamic collections. Our community is very fortunate to have such wonderful supporters!

Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 and last about an hour. We do schedule a few work sessions throughout the year as well, to work on long term projects and goals. Writer's Group - Up and Writing!

The Writer's Group has officially formed and will be meeting the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the library. Meetings will be limited to two hours, tops. We will start by using the meeting to discuss writing, review work submitted to the group by members, and take some time to get to know each other. Bring something you've written or are working on to the next meeting, if you wish - we all promise to be professional and gentle in our critiques. The next meeting will be Feb. 24 at 6:30 pm so if you would like to join the group, please call the library and let us know!

Writer's Group Meeting

'There will be an organizational meeting for the newly forming Writer's Group on Wednesday, January 27 at 6:30 pm in the library. Some things that will be covered are: how often--and when--should the group meet? Is there a writer's group "format" we like? What should we call the group? Refreshments? Wide-rule or college rule? Pica or Times New Roman? Come help us kick-off the first season of the Writer's Group! If you can't make it, don't despair. You can email us at cfllib@epud.net or call the library at 937-2625 to stay in the loop.
